We are delighted to present the following speakers at our 2018 event:


Keynote & Plenary Sessions 



Richard Watson, Futurist

Richard Watson is a writer, speaker and consultant who advises organisations on the future, focusing particularly on scenario planning and the impact of trends on long-term strategy. He publishes the online magazine What’s Next and is the author of best-selling books Future Files, Future Minds, and Digital vs Human (2017) which explores AI and robotics. Richard has worked on scenario planning, horizon scanning and innovation projects with, amongst others, IBM, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Westfield, P&G, News Ltd, Nestlé, The Department of Education (UK and Australia) and Samsung. He is also a visiting lecturer at London Business School, Futurist-in-Residence within the Foresight Practice at Imperial College London and part of the Futures Group at the Civil Aviation Authority.


Paula Jane Ridge, Group Head of Information Security and Assurance, De La Rue

Paula began her career in an HR payroll department in the civil service, before moving into IT in 1990. She secured an IT Support role with Hogg Robinson Financial Services in 1994, going on to fulfil several other IT positions before transferring into IT Security in 2002 for Hogg Robinson Travel. In 2008, Paula became responsible for information security management as Head of Information Security, and in 2015 joined De La Rue as Group Head of Information Security and Assurance.


John Volanthen, Cave diver and keynote speaker

John runs a Bristol-based ISP, but his passion is cave exploration which has been his hobby for over 20 years. John hit the headlines in July this year, when he was part of the multinational team involved in the rescue of 12 young football players and their coach in the Tham Luang caves in Thailand. John and his co-diver, Richard Stanton, were the first to make contact with the missing youngsters when they had been lost for nine days. Both men were part of the team that successfully rescued all the boys and their coach and brought them to safety. John designs and constructs some of his own diving equipment including underwater breathing systems and a mapping device that collects information while diving. He runs marathons and ultramarathons and undertakes cave rescues as a volunteer.


Juliet Morris, Master of Ceremonies

Juliet is a journalist and broadcaster whose credits include BBC Breakfast and BBC News for whom she presented numerous documentaries and current affairs programmes, building a solid reputation as interviewer and investigator tackling projects of complexity and gravitas. She was a regular contributor to Countryfile and also presented all three series of the acclaimed House Detective. Further afield, she presented both series of Unchartered Territory for BBC2 where she travelled worldwide in search of holiday homes off the beaten track. She was also the quiz mistress on National Geographic Channel's extremely successful Mastermind style quiz, Nat Geo Genius. In the corporate market she has built on this reputation, bringing warmth and depth to her delivery, whether chairing a serious conference, or hosting an awards evening.


Darren Thomson, CTO, Symantec

Darren is Symantec’s Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Europe, Middle-East and Africa. He has overall technical responsibility for customer engagement and is responsible for the development and delivery of cyber defence and strategic security programmes to major clients. He is active in 'Smart City' projects across Europe and is a founding board member of the UK’s 'Hyper/CAT' IoT Advisory Board (technical advisory to the UK Government and the Mayor of London in 2016) as well as a non-executive board member of TeenTech, a UK-based charity that helps young teenagers explore the wide range of career possibilities in science, engineering and technology. Darren is a regular contributor to various media publications and appears regularly on podcasts, television and radio programmes across EMEA. He is currently studying for a PhD in Social Psychology and Criminology.


Caroline Ikomi, European Customer Success Manager, Check Point

Caroline has over 20 years’ experience within the IT security industry, the last 18 years with Check Point. She has worked across a range of different roles from Sales Engineer, to SE Manager and Sales. The most recent of these roles managing Check Point MSP partners has given Caroline a unique insight into both Check Point and the customer experience. As part of the Customer Success Team, she works closely with customers on the delivery of Check Point Infinity.


Kai Grunwitz, Senior Vice President EMEA, NTT Security

Kai was appointed Senior Vice President EMEA at NTT Security in July 2017. He is responsible for both the business and the development of go-to-market strategies in the consulting and managed security areas of NTT Security. Kai has over 20 years of experience in top management positions in the IT industry. Prior to joining NTT Security, he was Vice President Consulting Northern Europe at Oracle Corporation and a member of the country leadership team in Germany. Previously, he was Head of Professional Services Central Europe at Sun Microsystems.


Steven Bullitt, Global Vice President, Threat Intelligence & Incident Response

Steven brings a unique government perspective to the executive management of NTT Security’s Threat Intelligence and Incident Response teams. Serving as the as the Vice President of Threat Intelligence and Incident Response, Steven is responsible for leading client facing threat responses. Steven began his career as a special agent with the United States Secret Service and held various Supervisory within the Electronics Crimes Task force and the Electronic Crimes Special Agent Program.


Azeem Aleem, VP Consulting, NTT Security

Azeem has over 15 years of practitioner experience in cyber defence technologies, security operations, counter threat intelligence, data analytics and behavioural classification of cyber criminals. He has been at the forefront of architecting cyber resilience capability against advanced persistent threats (APTs) for major organisations across Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East. Azeem has worked extensively with national and international law enforcement agencies around intelligence training, detection and investigation of cybercrime. A published author and academic criminologist, Azeem has made frequent appearances on television and radio as an expert on cyber threats.


Iain Hatherall, Senior Director, Solutions Design & Delivery, Enterprise Services, NTT Communications

Iain’s ICT experience of over 30 years is a seamless blend of technical expertise and industry perspective. His early exposure to computing came in the 1980s with the advent of the digitisation of monitoring and instrumentation systems, when he designed and built complex control systems in one of UK’s top manufacturing companies. This hands-on foundation coupled with the cross-industry experience he gained working for music and motor sport companies, helped him play pivotal roles in architecting ICT solutions for finance, police and justice systems in the UK and rest of Europe. Iain is currently Vice President of Managed Service Operations for NTT Europe, where he runs the delivery and operation of innovative technology solutions for businesses in the public and private sectors. Outside of ICT, Iain retains his interest in both motorsport and music, as well as the renovation of historic properties.

Tom Winstanley, Vice President, Head of Digital Consulting and Innovation, NTT DATA UK

Tom is a vice president at NTT DATA UK where he leads the digital consulting and innovation functions. With almost 20 years of consulting and programme delivery experience on the intersection between business, experience design and technology, Tom works with clients across multiple industries to help them harness the latest innovations. He leads business, creative and technology teams to enable digital transformation, deliver commercial impact and create outstanding experiences for his clients and their customers.


Remco Postma, Security Sales Director UK&I, Dimension Data

Remco has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, of which more than 15 have been in Cyber Security. Prior to joining Dimension Data, Remco worked in sales leadership roles in different parts of the NTT Group, including NTT Security and NTT DATA. Prior to NTT Security, Remco held sales leadership roles at cybersecurity companies such as Intel Security, HP Enterprise Security Services, Symantec and PwC.

Afternoon Breakout Sessions

Adrian Louth, Enhanced Technology UKI, Fortinet

Adrian has been in cybersecurity for the best part of 20 years helping some of the largest organisation in the world secure their critical assets and infrastructure from all manner of cyberattacks. Having worked with leading cybersecurity vendors and also running his own cybersecurity consultancy Adrian has wide knowledge of the cyber threats organisations face and the prioritisation challenges that dealing with them presents. He now works with Fortinet helping businesses to become more secure and better able to deal with breaches when they occur. Currently focused on APTs, Nation State Actors, advanced malware including ransomware and how to improve cyber situational awareness.


Tristan Liverpool, Director of Systems Engineering, F5

Tristan is the Director of Systems Engineering UK and Ireland, with over 20 years of IT and security industry knowledge. He has been at F5 for over 8 years and is recognised as an expert in secure application delivery. He started his IT career in the network and security world and has worked with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, Bluecoat, Extreme and Enterasys. Later in his career he moved up the OSI stack to be more focused and specialised in application delivery and application security in multi-cloud environments, where F5 is the market leader.


Steven Kulley, Systems Engineer, FireEye

Steven is a pre-sales engineer at FireEye. He joined the company in 2017 as a member of the Global Pursuit Specialists team, and as part of his duties provides strategic support for Security Orchestration, Automation and Response opportunities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Strayer University, Virginia, USA. With over twenty years of cross-functional experience in IT, technology consulting, sales engineering, software development, and product management across North America and Europe, Steven brings a unique perspective along with technical acumen to deliver solutions to customers' problems in complex, ever-changing environments.


Gary Marsden, Senior Director, Data Protection Services, Gemalto

Following the path of new technologies and growth markets has led Gary into the heart of many exciting and innovative products and projects. He has been instrumental in the development of managed and cloud services for voice, data, IT infrastructures and security markets. He led the development of the managed authentication service business, currently known as SafeNet Authentication Service, achieving a leadership position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for four years in succession and growing the user base from 30 users to over 2.5 million users. Gary contributes regularly to both cloud and channel media.


Lee Duff, Senior Sales Engineer, LogRhythm

Lee has worked in the IT security industry for over 10 years, across a broad range of technologies and verticals. During this time Lee has worked closely with both the private and public sector to understand the challenges faced and helped deliver a number of security projects to help organisations gain better visibility into their environment.


Patrick Bayle, Senior Sales Engineer, EMEA, Cylance

Patrick’s role entails supporting strategic partners in their go-to-market for Cylance products and services as well as supporting all technical enablement for the EMEA region. Prior to joining Cylance, he helped design, implement and deliver Security Operation Centres for numerous enterprises. Patrick started his career at HSBC where he was involved in the management of the bank’s endpoint antivirus estate, a role which entailed collaboration across the entire organisation. Patrick regularly speaks at events and recently appeared on BBC’s Click programme, sharing insight on modern threat techniques and ransomware used on the Dark Net. In 2017, he hosted a live webinar on the subject of Artificial Intelligence with ISC2, to over 1,000 live audience members.


Ray O’Hanlon, Solutions Architect, Business Development EMEA, Palo Alto Networks

Ray is a Solutions Architect focused on storage, compute, network, security, applications, cloud and automation architectures. With over 30 years' experience across partner and vendor roles, Ray has driven the integration of turnkey solutions in multiple IT domains. This has often involved the incubation, introduction and market development of new products, features and solutions. Ray recently joined Palo Alto Networks to support portfolio development across Global System Integrator partners.


Jon Lane, Sales Director, Skybox

Jon has over 30 years of experience in senior sales and marketing roles within the IT, security and telecommunications industry. Prior to joining Skybox Security in 2013, he held a number of senior management roles with BT. Jon has a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Marketing.


Rob Bickmore, Principal Consultant, NTT Security

Rob has been a security professional for 22 years and specialises in security governance and data protection. His role at NTT Security includes delivering security health checks, maturity assessments and audit engagements. With a background in implementing and maintaining information security management systems, Rob is now a certified EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) practitioner and holds ISO27001:2013 lead auditor accreditation. He has worked across a wide range of industries including finance and banking, manufacturing, government and telecommunications.


Claudio Camerino, Managing Consultant – Application Security and Cloud, NTT Security

Claudio is the practice lead for cloud and web application security consulting services at NTT Security. He specialises in designing and delivering large-scale cybersecurity programmes and imparting leadership and direction to cross-skilled technical pro-services teams. Focus areas include secure application delivery/software development lifecycle, DevSecOps and CSA® aligned cloud security architecture for public and private cloud, as well as cloud migration and automation/integration of security controls.


Darren Chapple, Consulting Services Director, NTT Security

Darren is responsible for NTT Security’s UK Consulting Services division, in the areas of Advanced Cyber Security Services/Advanced Security Operations Centre, service delivery management, programme management and business operations. With over 20 years’ experience in Information Technology and consulting, he has a background in quality assurance, project and programme management, process development and customer engagement through the pre-sales and project lifecycle. Darren has a wealth of experience working with organisations across multiple industries including Manufacturing, Finance, Telecommunications and Retail.


Kunal Hatode, Managing Consultant, NTT Security

Kunal is Managing Consultant, specialising in solution integration of cloud services, Wide Area Network and cybersecurity. Since beginning his career as a Microsoft/Cisco administrator at the age of 18, he has developed extensive experience across sales, operations, consulting, and product development. Kunal's subsequent career has included 24 acquisition integrations, and leadership roles with a team of Pre sales consultants. At NTT Security, Kunal is responsible for overseeing Advanced Security Operations, simplifying the toughest security challenges for CISOs and Senior Security Leaders.


Matt Schofield, Principal Solutions Architect, NTT Security

Matt is responsible for security guidance, solution design and technical account management for some of NTT Group’s largest clients. He has over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, almost exclusively aligned to security in a pre-sales and solution design role with specialisms in application security, encryption and security architecture. After a 25-year absence from his professional life, Matt is currently enjoying the renaissance of his degree subject of Cognitive Science.


Tom Smith, Principal Security Consultant, NTT Security

Tom has over 11 years of experience in technical consultancy, providing clients in industry sectors including finance and banking, government and retail with the breadth of technical knowledge required to design and implement complex and effective security controls. He provides technical team leadership on large, complex projects and enjoys mentoring members of the project team. Tom works as a subject matter expert within the web security and application delivery fields.


Nathan Britton, Principal Security Consultant, NTT Security

With over 15 years of experience, Nathan is responsible for the design and implementation of technical solutions that support clients in achieving their security goals. Nathan’s recent role has focused on network and application security and he specialises in F5 technologies and provides technical governance and leadership on consultancy projects. Nathan has extensive experience in a range of industry sectors including local government, banking and finance.
